Happy Tuesday loves!! Its about 8:55am and I've been siting here for the past two hours writing down notes for my final which will happen in a hour. I'm a little nervoussss. So I decided to come write a post to get my mind off of it. I find that not over studying helps me alot!
I've come to the realization that I love the crock pot. My mom is the master of dinner making in this house, whether its something she leaves me to just pop in the move or something that is so easy, like making tacos tonight. I love when she puts stuff in the crock pot it doesnt matter what I'm doing that day or where we go, I dont have to be home at a certain time to prepare everything. Its so nice. Last night she was home but decided to make one of my new favorite dishes in the crock pot chicken and dumplings. I love chicken but never thought I'd eat this. Branching out is kind of nice. I'm more of a dumpling girl to be honest!! So, today comes the recipe
There may be better recipes out there for this meal but for someone who is sooo picky, this one is a favorite of mine :)
Ingredients:
4-6 boneless skinless chicken breasts
2 tablespoons butter
2 cans cream of chicken soup
1 can chicken broth
1 onion diced (I used half of one)
1 tablespoon dried parsley
4 grands flaky refrigerator biscuits (I used five)
2 tablespoons butter
2 cans cream of chicken soup
1 can chicken broth
1 onion diced (I used half of one)
1 tablespoon dried parsley
4 grands flaky refrigerator biscuits (I used five)
Directions:
- Put the chicken, butter, cream of chicken, chicken broth, parsley and onions in the crock pot and cook on high for four to six hours. Mine only needed five, and probably didn’t even need that much.
- As the chicken cooks and gets tender, break it up with a spoon or fork
- Get your biscuits and cut them into nine pieces. I kind of rolled them into balls to ensure they stayed whole but it’s not necessary. Stir into chicken mixture and cook for another hour.
Simple, huh? I thought so! Its so good. The recipe says if its a little thick to add chicken broth or soup and it will get a little creamier! Enjoy
