Inspire Me 2014 - things that make me happy

Welcome to Inspire Me 2014 Day 6! Lisa and I have had so much fun with this challenge far and we hope that you will continue to link up with us. Thank you to those that have continued to link up almost every day!

Todays topic is:
A list of top 5-10 things that make you happy. Be creative! Serious, funny, embarrassing. Spill some beans :)

I like to think of myself as a happy person the majority of the time and I'm also pretty simple. Because of that pretty much anything I have or do can put a smile on my face. I could bust this list out in 2 seconds if I really wanted to but I've decided to look a little deeper

-one-
The TV show Castle - I had never in my wildest dreams thought I'd be into crime shows. My parents had been watching some episodes and told me to come see. And now I just can't stop watching it. They have a marathon from 4pm-8pm every weekday and you better believe we sit and watch. Castle is just the funniest person! I just love how the show also has a story line. For Christmas my parents got Brian and I Castle shirts. Brian's says "I really am ruggedly handsome aren't I?" and mine says "OCD" with the words "Obsessive Castle Disorder" underneath

-two-
Cleanliness  - Brian, being the one who doesn't care that clothes are on the floor and leaves things everywhere, can't understand why I always need to clean my room or the rest of the house. I've picked up this trait from my dad, uncle and cousins and you know what? I'm not ashamed of it! While I dont need every single thing to be perfect, I feel that a room/space should feel inviting. When I walk into a room at someone else;s house I want to feel calm/relaxed and like I have room to move and breath. If that's the case then I want my house to feel the same.I also like a spotless  kitchen. Our house is set up that our kitchen is pretty much the main room. You can't walk into any others room without going through it. And for that reason I want to make sure it always look presentable...even if it's just for the family. I always tell Brian that it's like therapy for me. I feel satisfied when I see something clean. I'm weird I know!

-three-
Chocolate - I'm pretty sure they need to add this as it's own food group. I'm a believer that chocolate can fix everything and that having it at least once a day is perfect! My favorite chocolates are m&ms, junior mints and cookies :)

-four-
When people show curiosity - another unique one. I mentioned yesterday that I like to treat others the way I want to be treated. Especially when I'm in public or speaking to someone I don't know. It becomes apparent more and more everyday that people dont seem to care much about the respect rule when in a public setting. I don't want to discount the people that try but it's very difficult these days to go into a grocery store or something and not mumble something under my breath. So when i come across someone who holds the door open or lets me go before them in line or says "excuse me" and "thank you", you better believe I show them alot of gratitude. It's a very rare thing these days and I can only hope it will change

-five-
Going down south - weird, I know. Brian and I go down to visit his sister/brother in law/our niece once a year or so. And while I enjoy that the most, I've also come to enjoy the atmosphere and vibe the south brings. Except for Florida, I had never been down south before I met Brian and so when I went down with him for the first time I was nervous. New people, new ways of doing things..I'm not used to change. But after a few times I found myself enjoying how I felt. People are friendly, the weather is different but is always a breath of fresh air and I just feel happy. It's weird and probably due to never really leaving New England but when we're there it feels like we're on a tropical island or something. One that's not attached to anything else.  It's hard to explain but I just love it! Now who's willing to take me in for a few days? :)

-six-
Pictures - I've grown up in a family who like taking pictures wherever we go and whenever there is a party so it's natural I'd love to take pictures also. But I've found my own love in them, that hasn nothing to do with my family. I'll never be a photography, I know, but being able to capture a moment and be able to hold onto it forever is just awesome. Everyone says I have a good memory, and while I'd agree, I find that sometimes if I'm not in the moment when doing something I totally lose it. That's why, even if it's just taking a picture of me laying on the couch watching a show/movie. While it's not a big deal, just being able to look back and remember how we'd sit as a family every night and watch TV. A sort of tradition. Some people don't like having there picture taken more than once or twice at a time, but I love it. Not because I like to pose or anything but it's just fun. I've also found that I like taking pictures to compensate for when I can see something in the distance. So many times we'll be somehwere and everyone is looking at something but I can't see it. So I'll pull out my phone and take a snapshot. That way I can go back later to look at it.

-seven-
Children/babies - I could sit and watch a baby all day! I've been blessed with about 16 cousins younger than I so I've been able to be around babies alot.. Everyone says that babies are not easy and while I know that for a fact, I can't wait someday to have one of my own. I love being able to bring my childhood side out!

-eight-
Country Music - we used to listen to country when I was young but then found another station to listen to. Once Brian came along I started listening to it again but that's all he listed to. I never realized how much I loved it! Our favorite artists are Brad Paisley and Blake Shelton. I love it so much because I've come to realize that I can connect to so many of the songs. As I've mentioned I like to express my emotions with words so the words of certain country songs always speak to me. I feel like I can relate many of the songs to things that have happened in my life.

Oh I could go on and on with things that make me happy but I'll stop there!

I definitely love capturing moments in everyday life with a picture!! When people don't want to have their picture taken is kind of a "happiness buzz kill". :/
